Airport Known Consignor

Obtaining clearance as a known consignor requires a lot of work. As a known consignor you are expected to comply with written guidelines as described in Regulation (EC) No 300/2008 and you may be audited against them. Compliance with the guidelines is a requirement of known consignor status. The  guidelines require a five year written career/education history with any career gaps greater than 28 days covered by Revenue and Customs records or personal referees, proof of ID, proof of address, proof of right to work, a character referee of professional standing that has known the candidate for a minimum of three years, a declaration that the information given is correct, a declaration that the candidate has no unspent criminal convictions and a declaration that says any misrepresentation of the facts is a reason to refuse employment. Those with overall responsibility for security also require a criminal record check. This is a time consuming process.

Our computerised systems contain the reference templates for each airport and our staff are trained to use them in the correct way. To simplify this process we provide your applicants with an online application form or alternatively we can provide you with paper application forms if you don't have your own. When the reference checks are complete we provide you with a professional candidate report that contains:

  • Five year history checks with employment, self employment, educational and benefits references
  • Revenue and customs records to help cover gaps in the career history
  • Character references to cover gaps over 28 days
  • Declarations or Basic Disclosure (whichever is appropriate for the role)
  • Proof of ID
  • Proof of address
  • Right to Work

All of this for a very competitive cost and we offer discounts for volume. Please contact us by email at solutions@vetting.co.uk or call us on 08456 435 836
